Final Thanksgiving Weecakies

When I was young my parents always took us for a long car ride in the Fall to see the changing colors of leaves.  I love red and gold and orange leaves and acorns.  I am so lucky to live where there is an abundance of colorful leaves in the Fall.  I used to collect acorn caps to use as cups in a woodland-tea-party setting with my dolls.  So, on a apple-spice cake square, I have recreated Autumn leaves and acorns.  The cake is dipped in white chocolate and the leaves and acorns are molded in colored chocolate clay.  These are pretty small in real life-it all sits on top of a sucker stick.  Beautiful colored leaves and melt-in-your-mouth apple-spice cake truffle.  What more could you ask for?  Yummy!

-Thought you might like to see some more Twig Weecakies.  These are raspberry swirl cake, and the twigs go over the side of the cake square-just some variations of the earlier post.

Just for Fun: Turkey Weecakies

What would Thanksgiving be without Turkey?  When I saw Bakerella's Turkey Cake Pops last year, I knew that I would have to do them.
This is Bakerella's design with some modifications.  The cake inside is chocolate, dipped in milk chocolate and decorated with candy corn-I couldn't find the "Harvest Color" candy corn, so I used what was available.  The head of the turkey is a ball of chocolate clay, as is the beak.  The turkey's snood (did you know that thing (according to WikiAnswers) is called a snood?  I always thought is was a wattle.  But wait...Yahoo Answers! says that it is a wattle and only appears on male turkeys.  We could have a great debate on whether it is a snood or a wattle or something else.  Well, anyway back to the description.....)
is an upside-down large heart sprinkle and his eyes are dots of dark chocolate.  These are fun and full of personality.   Gobble Gobble Gobble.  Have a Happy Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving Berry and Twig Weecakies

The second of my Thanksgiving offerings are Berry and Twig Weecakies.  When the leaves fall and swirl away, we are left with all sorts of berries and crabapples on our  trees and bushes.  I have little yellow crabapples on one of my trees, and tiny green-brown pears on my flowering pear tree.  Autumn brings about another change.  We can see that nature tries to feed all, making available and more visible these delicacies for birds and other wildlife.  There is beauty in the almost leafless branches, laden with fruits for hungry foragers.  The Autumn Lemon Twig Weecakies are made with lemon cake, dipped in yellow colored white chocolate, drizzled with white chocolate and decorated with colored chocolate.  The Autumn Twig Raspberry Weecakies are raspberry swirl cake (from carriescakes.com) dipped in white chocolate and decorated with colored chocolate.  Yummy fruit Weecakies, and the warmth of the Thanksgiving Season.  Celebrate your days with Thanksgiving Berry and Twig Weecakies.

Pumpkin Weecakies: The First of my Thanksgiving cake pops

Pumpkins are a very versitle vegetable.  We enjoy the trailing vines and huge leaves winding their way throughout our gardens.  We savor the mellow flesh in spicy pies, cakes, cookies and breads.  Our family especially likes the seeds salted and roasted in the oven for crunchy snacks.  Pumpkins have been the center of folk-lore, from Cinderella's fairy-carriage and Peter Peter's wife's domain to the frightening firey head tossed at the terrified Ichabod Crane.  Pumpkin Weecakies, however, are uniquely different.  They each have a yummy, mellow truffle center of either pumpkin-chocolate chip cake or apple spice cake.  Each Weecakie is hand-formed into a pumpkin shape-some are long and skinny, some are pear-shaped, some are traditionally round, and some are just weird.  All are dipped in pumpkin-colored white Callebaut chocolate and topped with a colored chocolate stem.  They are perfect for all your Autumnal Celebrations.  These are not ordinary cake pops.  Pumpkin Weecakies are a fantastic taste treat that everyone will love-especially if your name is Peter, or Cinderella, or Prince Charming, or....YOU!

 Happy Celebrations!
