Daffodills

I Love Daffodils.  Over 30 years ago, a neighbor gave me some bulbs, and I planted them in my gardens.  Every year since then I have enjoyed their lovely happy yellow blooms.  However, this year, my daffodils bloomed, and then the snow came, and they just didn't last.  So......I decided to make my own daffodils.  They are yellow and happy and they will last forever.  I can have Spring any time I want it....
and.....wait for it......these don't make me sneeze!  I love making flowers!

Oh yes...I couldn't resist placing my handmade beauties amongst the lush greenery in my garden for their debut pictures, but yes, they really are hand-made!  Wouldn't they look nice on a coconut cake or in a nice spring-time bouquet?  Do you like daffodils?  I sure do.

Have a Happy Spring!

Double Cherry Blossoms

I've been working on these double cherry blossoms for the past couple of weeks, and I think that finally, I have them right.  I'm not a great photographer, but I couldn't resist putting my bunch of hand-made cherry blossoms in the budding tree in my backyard and snapping a pic.  This small bouquet is light as air, and can be saved forever.  I think that they turned out nicely, and would be gorgeous on the top or side of a simple wedding cake.  It's Spring, time of new beginnings!

......And lest you think that my blossoms aren't hand-made:  Here is the same bunch of flowers in a teacup on my kitchen table.  Happy Spring!

Baby Blue Chicks and Duckies

      It's Spring!
Quite a while ago I pinned the ideas
for both of these projects.....well, I finally got around to trying them out...and, they turned out cute!  Just right to put on top of cupcakes or cookies.  The chicks are jordan almonds and the duckies are gumballs.  (The violets are real-happily growing in my backyard.)  Happy Spring!

Practicing.........

I've been practicing my free-hand piping skills lately.  There is lots of room for improvement, but I am getting better.......this was done without a pattern-all free-hand, nothing drawn on the cake to follow, just my eye and my semi-steady hand.  Work, work, work....but I love it!

January 2014

It's January, 2014 and I refuse to let
the winter doldrums get to me.  Today the sun is shining, the sky
is blue, and the air is clean, so to
celebrate I made these cheery flower Weecakies.  It makes me happy
to be making flowers in the dead
of winter.  I hope they brighten your
day too.  Have a Happy Weecakie January!

Love,
Weecakies
