Happy Bees Weecakie CakePops

  


 Its Spring and the bees are humming in their hives.  They are humming because there are fresh blossoms to be found everywhere.  My fruit trees have exploded into full bloom.  Spring is truly a new beginning...and getting back to the bees, well, they are happy to be humming and buzzing.  I was remembering that when a bee finds a good source of nectar, they return to the hive and do a dance to tell their companions where to find the new cache of food.  How happy is that?  My Happy Weecakie Bees are made with an almond flavored cake truffle (although they could be any flavor of your choice) 
 dipped in yellow chocolate.  Then I add white chocolate molded wings, pipe on the eyes and antenna draw the stripes with an edible marking pen and give them a kiss of blush.  We could all learn something from bees.  As Mary Poppins sings:
     "The honeybees that fetch the nectar
     From the flower to the comb
     Never tire of ever buzzing to and fro
     Because they take a little nip
     From every flower that they sip
     And hence..They find...Their task is not a grind"

We too can go about our various jobs with joy, humming with happiness and and dancing when we find success.  Have a Happy Spring!  :)

Daffydil Weecakies

Don't you love daffodils?  They are yellow and bright and cheery!  They are just the thing to bring everyone out of the winter doldrums.  We are experiencing a bit of spring in March this year, so I thought I would make happy Daffydil Weecakies.  Yes, I know that the spelling is incorrect, but my daffydils are just that---DAFFY!  These flowers would technically be classified as fantasy flowers because they are not correct in their configuration.  But I like them.  They make me happy, and face it, doesn't the name make you smile?  Each Daffydil Weecakie is made with a tangy lemon cake truffle, dipped in white chocolate and topped with a chocolate daffydil flower.  They are as wonderful to look at as they are to eat.  So celebrate SPRING with Daffydil Weecakies.  

St. Patrick's Day Green Weecakies

March 2012...it came in like a lion, and right now, is acting like a lamb.  Ah, Spring :)    Well, it feels like Spring today.  There are little green leaves pushing their way out of the ground in my gardens, searching for the sunlight.  I am very excited to welcome warmer weather.  March also brings us St. Patrick's Day, or "Greenie Day" as my mother would call it.  She always made a big deal out of the day-we would oft times have green pudding, or green cake or green milk to celebrate St. Pat's Day.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that we all had to wear green in some way or another or suffer getting pinched. This year I decided to make Weecakies with a green swirl to mark the occasion.  These St. Patrick's Day Green Weecakies are yummy almond flavored  light green cake truffles (or any flavor truffle of your choice) dipped in light green chocolate and then decorated with hand-piped darker green chocolate swirls.  They make me smile because I know that green represents life and growth and warmth and light.  Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!
